Quest Point Requirements

Quests are a major part of Horse Isle. Here's some quest basics to know.
  • Quests are rated at 4 different levels. They are (from easiest to hardest) novice, intermediate, advanced, and master. Generally the harder quests yield more quest points and rewards, such as money, gems, etc.
  • There are 4 "mile-markers" of quest point percentages. At 26%, you get an award and can go to the Lava Isles. At 51%, you get an award and can go to Pirate Isle. At 76%, you get an award and can go to the Cloud Isles. At 100%, you get an award and can go to Paradise Isle.
  • There are several basic types of quests; sandcastles moats, tangramas, pyramids, pirate caves, snow caves, ice sculptures, paintings, cookie cutters, piano playing, cloud coins, and non-player character (NCP) quests. The NCP quests tend to give the most quest points and money.

Treasure!

Just so you know, this post was added because of YOUR votes on our recent poll! Thanks! Continue to vote, comment, and email us to make this website better! There are many secrets to Horse Isle but few cheats. Though this post will be added to once we have more information, here's a few treasures that you can find:

Non-moving treasures:

  • Horse Isle Workbook Treasure #1- This is something I learned about recently; I'm not sure how many treasures there are like this, but if you dig under the directions sign just south of Earton bank, you get $2,000 and 5 amethysts!
  • Horse Isle Workbook Treasure #2- Dig in the spot just south of the fountain on Hoof Isle in Horseshoe Village. You get $3,000 and 5 topazes!
  • Quest Treasure- Just south of Earton water fountain, you can dig. You earn rubies, money (I think), and 25 quest points! You can pay the guy at the FOOD store to tell you this information, so save money by telling your friends this!
  • Statue Treasure- Directly around Jungle Isle statues can be treasure! Dig around the figure and you will get gems and sometimes money, too!
  • Garden Treasure- PP and I were on Lava Isle and I raked in this garden, only to find a Topaz Necklace! Awesome! It's in Molten Meadows.

Moving treasures:

  • Pirate Treasures- On the beaches, sometimes you will see a faint red X with the outline of a chest under it. Dig there and you will earn a few hundred dollars in Pirate Treasure!
  • Pot of Gold Rainbows- These are NOT the huge rainbows that are common on many isles, such as Flower Isle and Turtle Isle. Instead, these are small half rainbows with a pot of gold at one end. Stand on it and you will be awarded with about $10,000! (by the way, both of the moving treasures can be found on any island but Cloud isle. So there is a possibility of finding one or the other on any isle. So just a heads up!) We will try to get a picture of each once when we find one of them.
This is a Pirate Treasure! This is a Pot of Gold. Walk on it and you are awarded about $10,000!

More to come. Know of something else treasure wise? Please comment below.

Training

It's important to train your horses in the game, so I hope this helps!
  • There are 5 types of skills you can train your mount in; speed, strength, conformation, agility, and endurance.
  1. Speed and strength are used for jumping,
  2. Speed and endurance are used for racing,
  3. Conformation and a grooming are used for dressage,
  4. and strength and endurance are used for draftwork.
  • You can train for speed in Earton on Horse Isle, strength in Appleton on Horse Isle, endurance in Hotton on Desert Isle, conformation in Witherton on Rider Isle, and agility in Treeton on Horse Isle, but truthfully, agility's only purpose is to help max out your horse! If anyone refers to "UT's", they're talking about "UnTrainables". This means the highest number you can train your horse to in an area. Your horse gains experience and "skill points" every time they are trained, and earn experience any time they race, jump, do draftwork, or dressage. Happy training; I hope this helps :)

Library

When you are in the library, you can look at many different things, such as possible awards, tack, horse breeds, and companions, along with the ability to search for ranches and NPC's (non-player characters). When you first enter the library, you can view many different subjects/searches. Click the VIEW BREEDS button to see all of the horses found in Horse Isle. Once there, you can then click the breed that you would like to see. A picture of the horse pops up in the upper left hand corner, and on the picture there is a box. The box is in the upper left hand corner of the picture, and it shows all the possible colors for any breed (black, brown, bay, dun, white, grey, pinto, roan, cremello, palomino, and chestnut). The colors that this specific horse comes in are highlighted by allowing you to click them. So then click the color you want to see it in, and who knows, maybe you'll like it enough to buy it! You can also see stats on the horse in the upper right hand corner, along with history of the breed, height range, and where in Horse Isle it is found. You can also look at tack by clicking VIEW TACK. Once you are there, you can click on a tack set type and look at its stats for helping your horse, along with a picture of it. The more helpful the tack, the more expensive it is. Companions are viewed by clicking VIEW COMPANIONS. Once there, you can click on different companion names to look at them and see how much they can help your horse. Again, like tack, the more helpful the companion, the more expensive they become. More later on the library! But I thought at least this should get posted! Enjoy! ~Emmie~

Money

Money is another key aspect to the game. $$$$ Here's some money tips:
  • Save up! Don't spend it all. It's worth it the wait to buy, at least as long as you put it ALL in the bank when you're offline!
  • Collect items off the ground as you are walking. Some are worth a lot of money and can be sold in towns.
  • If you don't want to keep a horse, train it to 25 exp. (experience) by letting it buck you off and then sell it for a price you find fair!
  • When using ads chat, post the ad over and over again!
  • Never settle for a trade. If it's not fair to you, find someone else to buy from/sell to.
  • In quests, try to find objects you need, not buy them.
  • Make money by playing mini games, doing quests, trading, selling objects, winning chat riddles, winning contests, etc.

Be smart and wait for a deal :) It's the best way to go!

Horses

Everyone always has horsey questions. So here's some answers to common questions.
Question 1: How do I know what horse to get?
Answer: Okay, some people do just buy horses for their color, significance, or looks. But most buy them for the uses based on their stats. If you want a good jumper, train for speed and strength. For a good draft horse, train for strength and endurance. To get a good racer, train for speed and endurance. For a good dressage horse, train for conformation and keep it groomed! An example is below, the Racking Horse, which has high conformation, good for dressage. Check library for other breed information. (Sorry it's blurry!)
Question 2: How do I get that horse?
Answer: You can whisper a horse for $50,000 at the horse whisperer (more on that to come), you can pay in real money for a pawneer order, which customizes a horse for you, you can post ads and trade with a player for that horse, or you can check the auctions frequently. Be patient in looking!
Question 3: What's the limit on having horses?
Answer: If you're not a member, 5 is the maximum. When you're a member, you can buy a ranch, buy a barn for your ranch, and hold more horses.
Question 4: How do I look at other people's horses?
Answer: When you're on the same space as another player, click the ? next to their name. It will first show their profile, so scroll down, and their horses are at the bottom. Click a horse's name to see them. If they are marked TRADING, they are for sale. If you want to view their other horses, scroll down again and click another name. You can also by clicking PLAYERS in the middle of the page and looking alphabetically at their names, you can click another ?.
Question 5: What is a companion?
Answer: A companion is an animal that raises your horses' stats. You can one companion at a time. Cheaper companions help your horse less than expensive ones. Foals, the second best companion, never grow up and cost $165,000. They're found in pet stores on many isles. Some you can find on the ground. Geckos, butterflies, and rats can be found by walking.
Below is an example of a foal companion, the Piebald.
Question 6: Do I need to take care of my horse? If so, how?
Answer: You do need to take care of your horses, and it's not too hard once you get the hang of it. There are some blue bars if you scroll down a bit. These are the basic stats for your horse, including health, hunger, thirst, mood, energy, groom, and shoes.
If the health is down, visit a doctor. (It's the building with the red + on it).
If your horse is hungry, visit a red barn or go to the feed store to get hay, oats, apples, carrots, etc. You can also bale hay for free if you have a pitchfork. Then view your horse and click FEED, clicking what you want them to eat.
Thirst can be quenched at a pond, though your horse may get sick and its health will go down. You can also buy buckets of water at a feed store.
For mood, treats and apples will make it rise. So will petting, but then they lose energy.
Energy can only come back from a visit to the barn. Barn visits will also feed and water your horses.
Your horse can be groomed at the TRIM shop, will a scissors symbol on the front.
You can shod your horse at the farrier, a long building with a horse shoe on it. There are two types of shoes; take your pick! (psst... steel is better than iron!)
Question 7: Where do you find tack? How do you put it on?
Answer: Visit a tack shop to buy tack. It will be labeled GEAR. Visit the library to see fancy tack and which one is best, but as a new player, just buy the cheapest you can find. Put it on a horse by clicking TACK when viewing a horse and selecting the pieces.
Hope this answers some basic questions; we know, that's what we call basic? There's a lot to learn, but everyone gets it eventually.

New Player Tips

New to the game? New players join everyday. Here's how to get started! You'll be sent to Welcome Isle to start. Talk to Willy in the cabin, and he'll have you dig around the big rock on the north tip of the island. Walk over there by using the arrow keys. Once you get the money that is under the rock ($1,000), go to the dock on the west side of the island and head to Earton on Horse Isle. Your character will look like a baby. To get yourself dressed, click the PROFILE button in the middle of the right side of the screen. Scroll through the character choices, pick one, and click SAVE PROFILE. For $$money$$, try playing games such as Wack the Moles!, Fly N' Frog, Construction Job (in Easy, Medium, or Hard), and Horse Word Guess. You can also do quests by talking to people in cabins and stores. One easy quest in Earton is to dig south of the fountain. To catch a wild horse, walk around anywhere away from a town. If you are on a horse (a horse is where you're standing, that is), it will appear in the upper right hand corner with a symbol of a horse and say Breed, Wild Horse (it'll say a breed name instead of Breed). Click CATCH HORSE! You get 60 seconds to lasso the horse with your mouse. Aim for the neck/head. If you catch it, it'll show up in your horse inventory. Click HORSES, which is near the profile button to see your horses (up to 5). You can also buy horses at the auction, from players, pay with real money for a pawneer order, or whisper a horse. To talk to other players (PM), go to the small box in the bottom left hand corner that currently says CHAT ALL. This means you're talking to everyone on that server; it's also called global. If you click the arrow, it will show other chat options. These are:

  • ADS CHAT (for selling/buying),
  • CHAT NEAR (self-explanatory),
  • CHAT BUDDIES (I'll tell you how to pick buddies later),
  • CHAT HERE (that's right where you're standing),
  • CHAT ISLAND (with the whole isle/island you're on),
  • and then you can Private Message (hence PM) people by clicking their name.

You should also visit the bank. If you forget where it is, many players stand outside of it in Earton! It's tan with a $ symbol on it. Go inside and store your money to earn interest and leave it for a while. It earns slowly then more quickly as you get more money. That's all you need to know really when you're starting out. So go explore! See the isles, make friends, etc!
